MODS

The Mod series is about bright and loud movements of color. Though these pieces refer to traditional Italian wheel-cutting, my on-going experimentation in glass-carving focuses not on decoration but in the use of carving as line and form, turning the vessel wall into a Modernist canvas where the color spills out from within the piece.

These wall installations are formed out of solid blocks of glass that are sliced open to reveal layers of color within. These geodes project off of the wall obliquely, creating a pattern of line that dances from one piece to the next. These installations are bright, funky and playful.
